They are not only places of passage, sometimes train stations become monuments, works of art that appeal to travelers, transforming simple passenger curious observer. Having seen the most beautiful stations in the world, we stop at the 11 stations of Spain’s most beautiful train.
When the movement of travelers should pause to dwell on the details, when architecture becomes the protagonist, we face fine stations that lead us to different corners of the Spanish geography, from Bilbao to Jerez, through Madrid, Zamora, Almería.
Many of these stations are classified as “historical Seasons”, as they are emblematic buildings framed within the so-called Spanish Historical Heritage.
Toledo railway station
Toledo station, east of the city, is inaugurated in 1919 and restored in 2005 season, it noted for its neomudéjar style. Declared of Cultural Interest, is listed as a monument since 21 November 1991. Designed by the architect Narciso Claveria, it was restored in 2005 with the advent of high speed
North Station Valencia
In Valencia we get the beautiful Estacio del Nord of monumental modernist style, inaugurated in 1917 by the Company of the Iron Ways of the North of Spain.Demetrio Ribes, one of the architects of the company, was in charge of the work, notable for its large size and its rich ornamentation. In 1983, it was listed as a Cultural Interest.
Madrid Atocha station
In the capital of Spain Atocha station is a work of art that combines brick, iron, glass and tropical garden in a magnificent combination that surprises the traveler. Current appearance is the result of a major remodeling done in 1992 under the direction of architect Rafael Moneo, to accommodate high speed.
Canfranc station
International Station Canfranc is located in the Spanish town of Canfranc (Huesca), near the border with France. It opened on July 18, 1928. Declared of Cultural Interest, it is listed as a monument since 2002. Since the collapse occurred Bridge L’Estanguet in 1970, service between France and Spain was interrupted. Bilbao Concordia
The Bilbao-Concordia station or simply station of La Concordia is also known as Santander station. France, Barcelona Station
Barcelona-Estació de França also called station France Barcelona-term or historically, was inaugurated in 1929 by King Alfonso XIII. It became the first major station of the city. It is a monumental terminal station, which has a large metal structure modernist style and a rich interior decoration, with bronze and marble as materials like the bourgeoisie of the time.
Aranjuez station
We return to the station neomudéjar Aranjuez, Madrid style. It was in 1851 when the railway line that transported to the capital as the produce from the garden of Aranjuez, became known as the Strawberry Train opened. The old station communicated directly to the Royal Palace of Aranjuez. The coffered lobby, rich mosaics, decorative tiles or marquees are some of the highlights of this season.

Old station of Almería
A modern intermodal station Almeria travelers arriving by train and bus, but before the old station of Almería was used. Pending its declaration as a Cultural Asset, the station is an example of eclectic style, with presence of Modernism, of iron architecture with this material and glass as the main axis of the structure. This is an historic listed station, which highlights its Frenchified air, its windows and decorative tiles.
Zamora railway station
Train station Zamora is a monumental station opened in 1958, although the work began much earlier, in 1927. It neoplateresque style and is also considered historic season. In the Barrio de Las Vinas, the building was built with golden stone of Villamayor (Salamanca). It highlights its main facade of 88 meters long formed by three bodies including four square towers and porticoed arches.
De la Frontera Jerez station
In Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, we get this railway station monumental character. Of great architectural value, it has been dealt protection as a Cultural Interest. It was one of the first railway lines in Spain and the first of Andalusia, between Jerez and port of the Trocadero, in Puerto Real (1854). It came to transport the famous sherry to the port to take flight to the UK. Simple bunkhouse to become one of the most beautiful stations in Spain, with its style combining Renaissance and regionalist historicism with Moorish elements.
Puebla de Sanabria station
