More power, a 10-ratio automatic gearbox and some electronic enhancements will be the cover letters for the new ‘Stang’, a car that recovers longing for the Pony Wars and extends upgrades beyond the V8 5.0 engine, too With the 2.3 EcoBoost.
More strength to the rear wheels and better managed
Taking the fantastic base of the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 Coyote naturally aspirated in the test of the Ford Mustang GT, the Americans will inject a power kick to reach up to 466 hp and 570 Nm of torque. At least it will be so for the American model, which rises 25 hp (and 27 Nm) from the previous generation offering 435 hp versus the European’s 413 hp, waiting to know the figures of “our” Mustang.

10 speeds to annihilate accelerations
Beyond the pure figures, besides the traditional manual gearbox of six relations will also be released in this generation the new 10-speed automatic gearbox that is equipped for example in the Ford F-150 Raptor or in the same Chevrolet Camaro, as it is a joint development between Ford and GM.

This new automatic gearbox will be optional also in the EcoBoost engine, improving its acceleration until it is placed below 5 seconds (5.2 seconds of the previous model).
As if it were not enough in this war to be the fastest in a straight line, Ford has implemented a new mode of driving called Drag Strip that, as you can imagine, is to get off the ground. This mode is included in the Performance Package for both the manual and automatic versions of both engines.
In the automatics it avoids the loss of torque between speeds while in the manual the Launch Control is automatically activated. In addition, if the model equips the MagneRide suspension, the Drag Strip mode reduces the hardness of the front dampers and increases it at the rear to maximize weight transfer and load the rear axle.
