Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Everything we know so far of the last annual Assassin’s Creed

‘Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’ is going to be the last annual ‘Assassin’s Creed’. Since 2007, Ubisoft has not stopped with this saga, at the rate of delivery per year (in some, even with two or more) and has already warned that it will take a break in 2019, except for the expansion of the aforementioned Odyssey.

In the absence of a month to go out in stores, it is a good time to collect all the information provided by Ubisoft and know what’s new about the revolutionary ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’, which clearly drinks.

An Assassin’s Creed Origins mod?

“Who drinks” or gets drunk, directly, will think more than one. Not in vain this ‘Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’ has given the feeling, in its multiple videos, that it seems a mere change of skins and stage of the ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’.

Partly it is normal, because the rolero style of the previous one is conserved (although more accused in this one), nevertheless they have developed different equipment: if in Origins the work was in charge of the main study of the gala company, Ubisoft Montreal, Odyssey takes in development these last three years by Ubisoft Quebec. It is inevitable, therefore, to remember what happened with ‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ (2013, Ubisoft Montreal) and ‘Assassin’s Creed Rogue’ (2014, Ubisoft Sofia), being the second least inspired and quite continuous.

There are reasons for optimism with ‘Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’, anyway. At the end of the day the location (the ancient Greece of the V century BC, during the Peloponnesian War between Sparta and Athens) is almost as attractive as that of ancient Egypt, and we are presented for the first time in the saga to two characters choose: Alexios and Kassandra, both descendants of the Spartan General Leonidas.

Although there will be no differences between each one, our elections in the missions will matter a lot, having different dialogues (more than 30 hours of conversations, eye) that can change the evolution of history. In fact, Ubisoft ensures that we will have multiple endings, which sounds interesting.

The weapons of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to win

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

‘Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’ has an incomparable setting, with that “golden age of gods, heroes, beauty and war”. If Origins already fascinated us with its vast recreation of ancient Egypt and its mythology, Odyssey will not be short and its places will be very varied, and where there will be plenty of paradisiacal islands or volcanoes.

In addition, it will use history to recreate historical events, such as the bloody battle of Thermopylae, with the famous kick of 300 being one of the defensive movements of Alexios and Kassandra, especially recommended for shooting under vacuum to the enemies.

Although it will also collect the fantasy, like that Medusa that we will have to face after the story ends, being the biggest challenge of the whole game.

At the playable level, in any case, it will follow the guidelines of the previous adventure, except for the modification of the progress in the skills (here, divided into the branches of Guerrero, Assassin and Shooter) and better management of shortcuts for weapons and skills, something that will come from pearls in their multitudinous battles, and in which there will be no shortage of leaders.

And beware, because the naval battles will return in the line of the aforementioned Black Flag, as well as diving in search of hidden treasures (that this did have Origins).
