Baklava the Turkish dessert that drives everyone crazy!

Ingredients for making Baklava

To make the syrup, you will need
- 200 grams of white table sugar
- 200 ml of honey
- 100 ml of water
- 2 oranges.

To make Baklava it is also possible to create mixes of dried fruit, according to your personal tastes: walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds, and so on and so forth, you can give free rein to your imagination.
How to cook Baklava: Melt the butter and prepare the filling
Put the butter in a saucepan and let it melt over medium heat. Alternatively, you can also melt the butter in the microwave.
Inside a bowl, place the grated pistachios, grated almonds, and cinnamon. Mix everything with a spoon.
Compose the dessert
Place the phyllo dough in a rectangular mold and with a knife, divide it into fourteen equal parts. They must all have the same size as the pan. Using a pastry brush, spread the melted butter over the entire surface of the dough.
Place the second piece of phyllo dough on top and spread more melted butter on top. Spread a part of the filling on top and place two more sheets of dough, both buttered. Repeat these steps and finish the cake by placing eight sheets of dough, all sprinkled with butter, one on top of the other.

Baking in the oven
Bake your Baklava in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes at a temperature of 160 ° C. When your cake is ready, wait for it to cool.

With a juicer, squeeze both oranges and strain the juice through a colander. Pour the juice into a saucepan and add the sugar, honey, and water. . Boil the syrup until it reduces to half.

Pour the still steaming syrup over the cake and place the tray in the refrigerator until the following morning. Before serving, sprinkle the surface of your Baklava with some extra grated pistachios.
