Linksys WRT3200ACM, AC WiFi router that reaches 2,600 Mbps in the 5 GHz band
Linksys has announced the launch of the next generation of its popular WRT router, model WRT3200ACM, which comes with the latest in connectivity WiFi AC improved with the MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple Output) to establish several simultaneous connections Tri-Stream 160.
The latter allows to work with bandwidths of 160 MHz when the spectrum is free, instead of the classic 80 MHz, achieving double the effective transmission speeds.
To be responsible for managing the use of frequencies the router uses what they call Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS), detecting channel interference and allowing, if any, reach up to 867 Mbps in each of the three transmission lines on 5GHz WiFi AC, representing up to 2.6 Gbps.
It can also work with WiFi N on 2.4 GHz reaching in this case 600 Mbps in 3T3R MIMO configuration TurboQAM thanks to technology and 256QAM modulation.
High-performance processor and great connectivity
To be responsible for managing the entire system is mounted a high-end processor. Specifically a Marvell Armada 385 dual-core 1.8GHz accompanied by 512 MB of RAM and 256 MB of Flash memory.
As for connectivity, it has 4 detachable external antennas, four Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN and Gigabit Ethernet port for WAN. Also included are several ports USB 3.0 and one eSATA to connect network hard drives at maximum speed.
Finally, note that the router is compatible with the firmware OpenWRT and DD-WRT allowing install custom software that goes beyond that provided by the manufacturer.
Price and Availability
The new Linksys WRT3200ACM is now available for a recommended price $240.
